HOOFD MAAL TIJD
revolves around the destructive and
self-destructive attitude of man to his surroundings. We see the battle between our frenzied consumption and the necessity of changing awareness in the Anthropocene era.
Hoofd Maal Tijd performed during the Opera Forward Festival 2017.
A PUNKER AND A GOD ARE WAITING FOR THEIR MEAL IN A DESERTED FAST-FOOD RESTAURANT. YESTERDAY, THEY BOTH ATE SOMEWHERE ELSE, AND TODAY IS HAMBURGER DAY. BUT THE FOOD THEY CRAVE REMAINS OUT OF SIGHT AND THEY DON’T APPEAR TO NOTICE THAT EVERYTHING POINTS TOWARDS A LAST SUPPER. TIME IS RUNNING OUT.
We created this new opera with a team from the Amsterdam University of Arts, the university of Amsterdam and students from different conservatories from the Netherlands.
